About Us
Why We Do What We Do:
In an evolving world where family life is challenged with so many competing demands on time and energy, our goal is to rekindle fun and function, ignite connection, and increase family satisfaction. So often as families, we feel as though we are just "treading water," with success being equal to making it through the day not forgetting to feed everyone, getting that kid to that practice, paying that bill, and averting major emotional crises. We all struggle and we get it. We also get that on some level, we know there's more, we know people want things to be different, and we know that people are looking for a way to be happier. Through blogs, articles, workshops and retreats, we want to help you bring your vision for your family to life. We believe that "Family" is a verb. "To Family" is anaction that requires intention, connection, and observation.
Ashley Currie
Co-Owner, Family Growth Facilitator
Ashley Currie is a Youth and Family Practitioner in the Greater Vancouver Area of BC. She studied at both Simon Fraser University and the University of Victoria, obtaining her degree in Human and Social Development, specializing in Child and Youth Care. If she is not exploring the world, spending time with her family, working on some creative project, or researching some new topic, she is pondering new ways to use her energy and creativity to inspire others to live their best life through her passion and life work of serving children, youth, families, and communities. Ashley has been unsuccessful since birth at quelching her inner-propellings toward making change and taking action. Ashley has been “blursed” (yes, blessed and cursed) with a mind that sees both the inner-workings of things as well the big picture, an overabundance of energy, a deep sense of compassion, and a keen sense of injustice. Ashley’s mantra is inspired by Gandhi’s philosophy: “Be the change you wish to see in this world,” and believes all of her life’s work and experience thus far has led to her partnering in creating “Integrity Families.” In regards to the increasing gap in family connection, Ashley states, "I want people to realize the seriousness of the situation and the potential impact, but I also want to make the challenge surmountable for busy, everyday families, hence: Integrity Families." Ashley’s professional history includes counselling youth and families in Youth Justice, Mental Health, running parent education groups, and creating curriculum. She lives with her spouse and their blended family in New Westminster, BC.

Our Genesis
Mike and Ashley met as co-workers in a program that treated youth and families with high-risk behaviours and complex mental health diagnoses in the Greater Vancouver Area. Through their collaborative work with youth and families in program development, life-skills, psycho-education, counselling and parent education, they came to find they had similar observations regarding “what’s missing” in the common daily lives of families. If only the families they serviced had some ideas on how to maintain the essential family connection years ago, they believed they would not be dealing with the complex issues they are dealing with today. Lunch-break chats quickly turned into concrete ideas, and before they knew it, Integrity Families was born.
OUR VALUES
Relationships First!
1. With ourselves
2. With our partners
3. With our children
This creates a balance necessary for family satisfaction. These all take work and these all take commitment.
Work takes a back seat to relationships.
